Abstract. Ulnar neuropathy is commonly encountered, both acutely after elbow trauma and in the setting of chronic compression neuropathy. Careful clinical evaluation and discerning evaluation of electrodiagnostic studies are helpful in determining the prognosis of recovery with nonoperative and operative management. Ulnar nerve palsy can result in loss of sensory and motor function. This can occur after injury to any portion of the ulnar nerve. The ulnar nerve is the terminal branch of the medial cord (C8, T1). The ulnar nerve innervates the flexor carpi ulnaris and the flexor digitorum profundus after it passes through the cubital tunnel.[1][2][3][4] The ulnar nerve is a terminal branch of the medial cord of the brachial plexus. It contains mainly fibers from the anterior rami of spinal nerves C8 and T1, but may sometimes carry C7 fibers as well. From its origin, the ulnar nerve courses distally through the axilla, arm and forearm into the hand .
