The Britton laboratory is interested in the role of microbes in health and disease, with a focus on identifying microbes with therapeutic properties for a variety of ailments. We use bacterial genetics, genomics, microbial ecology, and physiology to investigate individual microbes and microbial community structure and function. I am an aquatic ecologist who specialises in fish ecology. My research interests cover the impacts on aquatic fauna of anthropogenic stressors, including invasive alien species (including parasites), habitat loss and climate change.
