Pazhassiraja led the famous 'Pazhassi Revolt' against the East India Company during the 1700's. Pazhassiraja Museum located in Kozhikode is a treasure trove for historians and connoisseurs of art, that houses famous paintings, antique bronzes, ancient coins and other artefacts. An excellent museum that showcases the history of Kozhikode and Keralam from the stone age till the colonial period. It was a British bungalow and the name was changed to Pazhassiraja's after independence (though I'd prefer to go with the name Kozhikode museum). Pazhassi Raja Museum and Art Gallery is located in Kozhikode district.
