1 INTRODUCTION. Nerium oleander is an ornamental evergreen shrub belonging to the family Apocynaceae, widely distributed in the Mediterranean as well as subtropical and tropical regions. Oleander contains cadiotoxic glycosides (CGs), also known as cardenolides, in its seeds, roots, leaves, flowers, fruits, branches, and stems [1, 2].Oleandrin is the most potent, with long-known cardiotoxic (3)We report these cases to highlight the cardiac toxicity of Oleander poisoning even in small doses. The cardiac glycosides of Oleander produce more gastrointestinal effects than those in digoxin, and the symptoms range from nausea and vomiting to cramping and bloody diarrhea.
