The Bristol Fairchild Bolingbroke IVT, was a trainer aircraft based on the Bristol Blenheim Mk IV reconnaissance aircraft. The T stands for Trainer version. The Bolingbroke was a Canadian version of the Bristol Blenheim IV light bomber, which in turn had been developed from the civilian prototype Bristol 142. Although begun in England, the Bolingbroke name was dropped, except in Canada where they were built at Fairchild Aircraft Ltd. There were three versions made, including a floatplane (only one Bristol Bolingbroke Mk. IV In 1934, the Germans could boast that they had the fastest airliner in existence: the Heinkel He 70. For the British aviation industry, this simply could not stand, and Bristol Aircraft answered with its Type 142, which first flew in April 1935. The aircraft is based on a 115 squadron, RCAF aircraft from about 1943. The nose on the model is formed from Balsa with windows painted for effect.
