The Klaserie Reserve (KPNR) is a large privately owned nature reserves in SA totalling 140 thousand Acres on the border of Kruger. The reserve was formed in late 1968 and became a nature reserve in 1973 with Mr Necker as chairman and Mr van Vuuren as warden. Owners Lee-Ann and Louis were initially hired to refurbish the property after a massive flood destroyed it, but they fell in love with the beauty and wildness of the Klaserie Reserve and stayed to open the lodge. The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve was established in 1972 as part of the greater Kruger National Park. It is one of the largest private reserves in South Africa, being 60,000 hectares (or 148,000 acres). This vast tract of preserved land has some beautiful trees and riverine vegetation near the magnificent Klaserie River. A Unique African Reserve. The Klaserie is one of the largest privately owned Nature Reserves in South Africa (approximately 55,000 hectares) and together with the Timbavati Reserve and Sabi Sand Reserve,forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park (approximately 2 million hectares). Unfenced, it allows for both all migratory species to roam Safari-goers making the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve their destination of choice can look forward to the most memorable experiences.
