Micromax today launched its first Cyanogen-powered smartphone, under the Yu brand. The device is competitively priced and is to be sold from January 8, 2015. Mobiles Micromax recently unveiled Yureka, its first budget smartphone to be powered by Cyanogen's software under a new sub-brand that it calls YU. Besides running the developer-friendly flavour of At first glance, the Yureka smartphone doesn't look very different from other Micromax budget devices, complete with a glossy, black plastic front panel and capacitive touch keys. The corners are pronouncedly rounded while the edges are flat. Although it falls in phablet territory, the Yureka doesn't feel humongous. The Yu Yureka Plus supports 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, and GPS as connectivity options. Micromax is offering Yureka Black in glossy black and matte black color options.
