Despite the Scots' victory at the Battle of Bannockburn in June 1314, Robert the Bruce Arbroath Abbey is a ruined monastery located in the town of Arbroath, in the county of Angus, Scotland. It was founded in 1178 by King William the Lion and was the home of the Tironensian monks for over four centuries.
