Groblersdal is situated in the Sekhukhune region, which is in the Limpopo Province. 2. The town is located approximately 20 kilometers north of the Olifants River and about 20 kilometers west of the Loskop Dam. 3. Groblersdal is surrounded by various other towns and areas in the Limpopo Province, such as Marble Hall, Jane Furse, and Nebo. 4. There are almost 70 species of mammals in the Loskop Dam reserve including three of the Big 5; white rhino, buffalo and leopard. Numbers of oribi, white rhino, buffalo and sable antelope are dwindling so these animals enjoy special protection. You should also be lucky enough to see hippo, giraffe, warthog and other wildlife in the reserve. The dam is approximately 30km long, which makes it the longest dam in the Southern Hemisphere and supplies water to a vast irrigation scheme in the areas of Loskop, Groblersdal and Marble Hall. The dam has become a favourite for anglers, watersports enthusiasts and boat-based game watching is offered by a number of resorts on the banks of the dam. Groblersdal Accommodation. The irrigation scheme of the Loskop Dam, 32km south of the area, is the reason for the existence of the town of Groblersdal.
