Mar 1, 2022. #1. I recently got a RTAK off of the trade blanket. It came with the original sheath plus a very nice kydex sheath. The coating on the blade had been partially striped off. I handed it over to my buddy who is a knife maker and he finished stripping the blade and then applying gun blue. He left the original paint around the handle The current (2023) RTAK-2 is not the original. I own the original. I love my RTAK-2. Sometimes I think it belongs in a shrine. I take it out and handle it when I am particularly steamed over the woes of the world. Since Ontario doesn't seem to want to address this,(I sent an email, and no one responded) I will. May 1, 2010. #19. i got handle RTAK2 on a passaround on another knife forum. the ESEE Junglas looks to have a thicker blade spine. also ESEE looks to have made a vast improvement on the sheath! that was a weak point for the RTAK2 for me. if i needed a big chopper for under 200 i'd go with the ESEE JUNGLAS!
