(Annabelle Timsit/The Washington Post) LONDON — The Banksy appeared the way Banksy murals often do Banksy is attempting to produce one piece of work per day, uploading an image of each one right after its completion to his website www.banksy.co.uk and an Instagram feed 'Banksyny' (now at 35,000 followers and counting). He's also provided a cheeky audio track for each, available to listen to on his website or by calling a toll-free number spray-painted next to the works. In October 2013, Banksy began his self-proclaimed residency on the streets of New York City. Inspired by impressionist painter Paul Cezanne's quote, "Better Out Than In," Banksy set out to create a new piece of art every day during October. His pieces have ranged from installations, short videos, performance art, and his signature stencil Banksy's work titled "The street is in play Manhattan 2013." Oct. 1: Banksy announced his New York streets residency via a New York based Twitter and Instagram account connected to a website. Banksy's first piece in New York: "The Street Is in Play". Day 2: West 25th Street & 11th Avenue. West 25th Street: "This Is My New York Accent". Day 3: West 24th Street & Avenue of the Banksy will be holding a monthlong project, "Better Out Than In," which attempts to host an entire show on the streets of New York.
