Dimitri Kusnezov, chief scientist at the Energy Department 's National Nuclear Security Administration, has been nominated to the role of deputy administrator for defense programs at NNSA. Dr. Kusnezov currently serves as Chief Scientist at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) in the U.S. Department of Energy, a position he has held since 2010. He has served in multiple positions within the NNSA including concurrent appointments. This includes the (acting) Chief Information Officer in 2013 and the Director of the NNSA is run from headquarters buildings spread over three sites: the Forrestal Building in Washington, D.C., home of the Department of Energy; the department's Germantown Building in Germantown, Maryland; and the John A.
